Definitely curious to see what replacement head they use 'cause they were able get you in so quickly.

Hopefully your drama is over. I still don't understand what was done to the AB heads that wasn't done to the AA's. I think I'll cruise through the 2011 Grand Cherokee forums to see if they had this same issue. Don't know why I haven't done that before.

Since It's a '12, 98% sure it came with the old heads(AA). I just got mine in June and it was held up in the factory during the build process in May. At that time no new heads were being produced even though on this forum the tic was becoming a hot topic. There's some speculation that the last batch of JK's came with the new heads (AB). However, considering Chryslers very slow response to the issue, I believe that they didn't install the new heads 'till the 2013's were in production.

I know, makes me nervous. Here in Canada we don't have lemon laws so I don't know what course of action I can take. Except bend
Over and take it. I'm really starting to regret spending so much on another jeep only to have even more worries.

If there's a way to see the part number on the head (not sure where it's marked if at all), the old head that is prone to tick has a part number ending in AA. The new one has a part number ending in AB.

You know what I think really puts the icing on the cake for Jeep.. Some of the last 12's built they badged up as this "Freedom Edition" the ones with the Oscar Mike badge which are marketed toward veterans and military members and supporters. So someone at Chrysler LLC said Hey I know lets use up all our bad engines on these Freedom Editions and because military people will be swayed by this cute little package. And someone is getting out of the military saving up years worth of deployment pay spending it on this junk.

Talk about a knife in the back.

I like Ohio myself lots of good people there. But my point is for instance I used to own a PAtriot. PEOPLE LOVE those PAtriots. leaks and all sewing machine sounding engines and all. 4 cylinders and well you get my point. That forum is one of the best most informative forums I have ever been on and busy too. BUT Patriot and Compass have competed against each other for a few years now and there will be no 13 Patriot or Compass built in USA as the current version is. But rather production for a 2014 Patriot Compass replacement will be built in Italy.

Where is the Dakota truck? 11 it went away and as I have heard no 13 replacement as promised. Liberty redesign skips to 2014 and again where will it be built??? I have heard that the WK2 Grand Cherokee is indeed the redesigned Liberty as Jeep will introduce a higher priced SUV (Grand Wagoneer) which will borrow the Durango longer body thus pushing the Grand Cherokee into the spot the liberty now occupies. But again Chrysler is so sneaky you just dont know.

I know this has little to do with this thread topic but it boils down to one word TRICKERY. This company has used "marketing" as an excuse to keep secrets. I know people who want Challengers so bad but refuse to buy because of speculated colors of next year which will never come to fruition. Stupid be honest with your customers. IF your having head problems say hey we re having head problems. instead of this deer in the headlights glare like........."huh"

There are lots and lots of foreign car makers with factories in the USA as I mentioned Kia and Toyota but those are not American companies because they are owned primarily by entities in other countries. Chrysler LLC is owned by FIAT. Hell, I know I m wrong but the last time I saw a FIAT in America was on the screen in 1984 European Vacation ... and even it got stuck in a tunnel.... I see them J Lo commercials and think is anyone really buying those ugly little straight drives?? It's like a Mini Cooper with no lol style....

I hate to say it but I really wish Chrysler would sell the Jeep brand to Ford. Let them concentrate on their v8 Hemis with $4 a gallon gas and driving away what few loyal customers they have left.

I m not posting on this thread again until my head blows. It just upsets me

Im sure that was their plan. Gotcha Suckers! But really its the old addage... Never buy the 1st year of a new engine/tranny. An yes it was the 1st year of that engine/tranny in a wrangler... The GC has had its problems also with the 3.6.
