Well after dropping off my Jeep Monday evening to get the "tick" resolved they called me today. They replaced all the lifters and guess what? The "tick" is still there... so they ordered the right side cylinder head after talking to Chrysler. They told to pick up the Jeep as it will be a week or two till the head comes in.

So the saga continues, but at least I didn't have to battle with the dealership to do the right thing. Not happy to have major engine work at 7K miles

Got mine back today with the lifters being replaced. (5,500 miles). Service advisor said the lifters looked really beat up. Not sure how this is the case but the Tic seems to be more profound at this point and is now coming from both sides of the motor. Service advisor said it sounded way better then it did. Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me. Going to have my friend listen to it tomorrow to make sure I'm not loosing my mind.

And when I asked if the heads we are putting on are the same heads we are having problems with the answer was most likely yes and in another 10- 20k miles we will probably be putting another one on."

Interesting, if this turns out to be true looks like we'll all be going back for another head eventually...

Again, this has not been officially confirmed but the more I think about it , the more it makes sense, since the integrated exhaust manifold in the head is something new on the Pentastars
If you google Allpar Pentastar technical details there's a website that details the Pentastar 3.6. The exhaust manifolds are cast all one piece with the cylinder heads. If the exhaust manifold on one side is generating too much heat why isn't it doing it on the other, passenger's side?

If I hadn't seen the color of your grille I would have thought that was a video of my engine lol. Do you experience any power loss/surge? How is your gas mileage? I've been able to get about 15.5-16 @ 75mph with a tail wind(auto, 4.10s and stock tires). The biggest hills out here in west Texas are the overpasses.

I do feel some power loss and surges, I don't really pay attention to gas mileage it's a Jeep after all and I go by the motto there's more to life than gas mileage. Besides I use up all the gas $ my wife's Altima hybrid saves. Lol

When my head was ticking before the replacement, my gas mileage was AWEFUL! The best I could get was 14 mpg no matter what I did, not to mention, it was doggy all the time! Now since the head replacement (no ticking), I am getting 17.5 consistantly in town (Actual hand calcualtion)! That is with 3.73's and rubicon wheels and tires.
