possible problems with some 3.6 pentastar engines

Thanks Vulcan I know and I told the dealer about this thread and had my jeep in and they still told me it was normal. I called jeep customer care and they said if the dealer says its normal there is nothing they will do until I can get a second opinion saying otherwise. I'm at my wits end and am about to do something drastic if I don't start getting some help. My jeep is only 30 DAYS old with 3000km. It ticks loudly on the driverside, it hesitates in 1,2 and third an yesterday it back fired.

Why does warramty work have to be so aggravating? As someone mentioned earlier, Chrysler seems to have decreed that the first step to deal with complaints of valve tap is to re-flash the ECM. That's all that my dealer did for me a week ago. When I asked them how a SW update was supposed to fix a mechanical issue, the service writer just kind of shrugged his shoulders and asked me to drive it a few days and see what feedback I could give him. So I called him today to tell him nothing's changed, stil have ticking/tapping/clicking, CEL has come on and off 2-3 times in the past week, and the only change I can detect is that it seems to be idling rough. His response was bring it back and this time we'll fix it right - pretty much as if they knew what they did before wasn't really going to fix anything.
Still optimistic that this will be fixed, but leaves a bad taste in my mouth that they wasted my time and theirs last week.

Dealers are trying to procrastinate because Chrysler can't keep up with the cylinder head requests. These threads call out the huge head back orders.
Please read these threads thoroughly people aren't BSing you when they tell you the process they went through. The truth is very much evident within these threads; I've been there.

Mine was built march 2012 thats 3/12 it's the newest one yet that I know of. I knew about this problem before I even ordered it thinking it would have been resolved by now, especially since it too 4 mnths from order to delivery. And just because people are questioning it on here does not make them a disbeliever or you all liars, some of us have heard so much BS from the dealers that maybe we are just being thorough and wanting to see actual proof for our own piece o mind an something we can show the fn dealers. We need to stop the in fighting and team up with all our facts to support each other and make Chrysler fix our damn jeeps.

And these threads don't prove anything only 1 person posted their actual work order.... That's proof the dealers can't deny. The rest is just people online ranting according to the dealer. Hear say.

I would like to politely remind everyone to submit a complaint with the NHTSA. You may be able to save some people the grief and aggravation you have had to endure if the NHTSA were to investigate. The link to search for complaints regarding our JK's is:ODI - Office of Defects Investigation
You will see that only 6 people have filed complaints so far which is a very low representation of the JK owners who have had this issue.
