I was about to start this thread last night, after coming home pissed. After filling up the tank, it showed 389 miles until filup. Well! I am at 280 now and my gas light turned on at 265 last night. I'm going to keep going another 20 miles to see if I can hit 300.

Well, I've had my 2-dr Auto C-pkg X (no compass/mileage calculator) and I get between 16 and 18mpg. With the original "tiny" 225's, I got ~17.5mpg(50-50), and today with 265 BFG AT's, I get about 16.5 with the same commuting. The BFG's are a lot heavier, and cause the overdrive to bog down on uphills, and get worse fuel mileage than the 225's. What makes you think you should get better mileage with bigger rubber?
I get ~ 250 miles per fillup(warns at15 gals), and had the speedo re-cal'd for bigger rubber.

I filled up my 2-door stock Rubicon and it took 10.1gal with 175mi on the trip odo = 17.3. The computer said 19.3. I was driving on mixed roads and a easy driver. When going 70mph my Garmin Legend GPS shows 68.3mph. Since the speedo is off so is the odometer when it shows 10mi the GPS shows 9.8. So if I use the odometer to do the MPG it is not right and either is the computer.

14 seems low, How do you drive? When i drive i get about 15-16 mpg on the JK, when my wife drives we get alot more. either way its a brick going down the highway. jeeps suck for gas mileage. If your pushing into the wind, you might as well forget good mileage..

I drive pretty hard i guess....I was just curious if my mileage was supposed to be THAT low....seems pretty bad, but I guess its ok. I know that I had read that there was a TSB that fixed poor mileage, among other things.

I've only filled up a couple times with mine, 2dr Sahara, Auto with the 4.1 gears and 17's. First time the computer estimated 19.6 but actual calculation (miles divided by Gallons) was 20.1. Second fill up computer estimated 20.5 and actual calculation was 20.4. Mostly driving back country roads but there is a fair amount of stop and go mixed in there. I would think 14 sounds kinda low unless you are hitting it hard from a dead stop. As someone else pointed out, driving conditions will have an impact and I am a mile above sea level.

I think I know what we are doing wrong to get good gas mileage ........we have to get rid of these 33 and 35 inch tires and go with the 16 and 18 inch tires lol.

2-door, auto, 4.10... Average 16.5 MPG.

Best ever was just under 20 (almost all highway). I seem to only get between 250 and 300 miles for a tank before I'm "compelled" to refill. And I have those dumb tiny wheels... :( I hope to upgrade soon.
