I just did the steering left and right method of checking and what I saw was the steering box itself moving side to side and not the sector shaft!
The sector shaft is what the pitman arm is connected to right?
Is it normal for the box to move side to side?
If I gotta guess as to how much it moved I would say about a 1/8" or slightly more.
I do not have clunky steering or any wobbling while driving either.
If I wasn't on my iPhone I would insert a smiley scratching his head thinking.

So you're saying the box itself is moving on its mounting bolts?

I think you'll find everyone's steering box moves as the frame rail it's mounted on flexes under the strain.
There is a brace for that. It goes from the sector shaft to the other frame rail.
It's mostly for those with big tires and high lifts.

Yup mine does the same thing and I'm willing to bet that if others checked they would see theirs does the same as well. The entire box flexes on the frame. It should have been re-enforced better but it's not. Couple that with the fact that the bearings inside the box are junk and the whole thing sucks.

Well I guess that actuallly makes me feel a little bit better that they all move. I thought "shit man what next". But did not notice the sector shaft move at all so I guess I'm ok and can now move on to other projects. A special thanx to ronjenx for stepping up and sharing knowledge. I will use this newfound wisdom for good and not evil. Thanx dude.
