Default Ticking from day 1

Bought my unlimited 02/12 and have always had the ticking and was told my dealer that its normal.

Dec 2012.....check engine light came on with NO code. Did the "ignition sequence" to check for the code but only got the ....6 dashes (------) and "done". Took to dealer who said it was an issue with the Cluster since codes were coming up. So got a new cluster installed. 10 miles later.......check engine light came on again. Took it back to the dealer the next day and was told that it did in fact throw a code the first time (not what I was told) that there was something wrong with the #4 cylinder and that it was again throwing the same code. Made another appt to have it torn down and tested. Apparently it passed and Chrysler told them to just put it back together. 10 miles later......check engine light comes on AGAIN!!!

Now I am waiting for the parts for them to replace the heads. Not happy with several visits and attempts to get it fixed especially since Chrysler has known there was an issue from the beginning

Bringing this back from the dead. 2012 rubicon with 36k. Check engine light came on last week or so with p0304 cylinder 4 misfire code. , reset it and 500 miles later on again with same code. Dropped it of this morning for a head replacement. I was also having a small pop or back fire through the intake, anyone else experience that with the issue? Production date is 4-12

I had my 4/12 jkur head go bad last augustish. Had some codes. Dealer "update" less than week latter code again. Dealer said misfire, I knew it" they had a new head ordered. Shot time later had it installed. No problem since. Had 16,500 miles then. At 22,800ish now. Dealer was cool and have zero guff.

Bigchelis,

I know that mid pit in your handle pic. That pit cost me $500! When I was a noob, I didn't know to spray the mud off the fan after going through the pit. The mud fried my doohickey thingamajig fan motor a/c switch something or other.

Hollister Hills!

I too live in San Jo.

About the topic: My company sells medical equipment and we use many Dodge minivans to transport the equipment and we have had to get quite a few heads repaired on 2012 Pentastars. The good news is that the fix is quick and it's the only problem I have seen on these motors and we've put a ton of miles on them. It's a none issue for us. Just fix it and get back on the road and forget about it, folks.
