Anyhow it did have new running gear (Motor and trans and transfer case) and someone bought it off the lot. Well the pre delivery inspection time came and the guy next to me put it up on the lift.

Well as soon as the front tires started to lift off the floor a loud TOING!!!! sounded and the frikkin thing shot off the driver's side spring bounced off the tire and broke his coffe mug and cd player that were on a shelf on his toolbox. As for the other side I zip tied the contact points to the coils and die ground it off. Dangerous as all get out and I have NO idea how those falkin things are still on the market today.

It might be bent out of its original shape. That you could see just by looking at it. Any more hidden damage would be hard to detect.

Just find someone that has changed their springs out with a lift kit and get theirs. Cheap insurance until you get a lift and replace those springs with aftermarket.

Just remove them, the spring in all likelyhood is not damaged. I've repaired cars with the hell blasted out of the suspensions and in 35 years only seen a couple of coil springs hurt.
