part that I think shouldnt be there..
sense i been driving a Z sense 2007, ive seen something like this. It suppose to not let the spring compress fully and someone said on the forum that it should of been removed when it got to the dealer ship.
Either way im thinking about removing it but still new to the jk and thinking it could effect handling on the street :/

no it off a jk and ya that is what im thinking. ugh thats why i never like to buy used jeeps/cars/trucks. You never know if the other owner was a idiot ugh. probably did this to tighten up the springs to give better handeling but dang this is a jeep it not a sports car. i guess ill be doing this removal soon. in the mean time any other jk members with experance on the picture please shine in before i do this

That there is an auto parts store $20 lift. They are just another version of the twist in coil spreaders. They are junk, get them off your jeep ASAP... and if you have clearance problems put some 1" spacers in.
Wow it has been years since I have seen those things installed on anything.
EDIT: be careful if you plan to remove them yourself, with all the road grime and corrosion on those threads, a bolt my snap and shoot some shrapnel at you. Removing the load from the springs by jacking and supporting the vehicle from the frame will reduce the load quite a bit but not completely. Watch your eyes.

well good thin the tires look like stock tire size and the dealership said they replace tires around 50% tread when they come in. so they probably looked up stock tire size up. and the way the clamps look i loosen the nut and the metal part on the spring lowers down.... good thing i noticed this lol no wonder why it felt so bouncy on the off road lol
