Default Overheating

I guys
I've noticed a sweet coolant smell at the front of my JKR after a regular 30 minute drive to work.
I don't appear to be loosing coolant but I fear my Jeep may be running too hot.
What could be the cause of this ?

Check around the water pump for a pin hole leak or weeping. Many times it won't leak enough to drip on the ground. This unfortunately is a common problem on some JK's. I replaced the water pump on my old '07 with only 30K miles on it.

Thanks, I'll take a look.
I have a traildash programmer and I'm sure it's started running hot too.
May have to take it in to the dealers.

Try a bottle of coolant dye and a black light, might be a lot easier to find. If you have a local shop with a light you can just put the dye in the system and run it for a week or two. You can then have the shop locate the leak super quick or do it yourself if you bought a light.

if you have a traildash just use it to display coolant temps. i have it set on mine and i can watch it change as i drive. normally sits around 199 to 210 range.

I have and it's running at 206 to 224 which is why I think it's running hot.
On a trip once it's warmed up it used to be around 206 but suddenly rising to 224 has me concerned.

Yep, that's a bit high. Mine runs at 194-205° most of the time. I monitor with Torque Pro running on a Nexus 7 tablet. When I had the smell of coolant and high temperatures, it turned out to be the intake manifold gasket. FYI, many other temps were also running higher than normal -- intake manifold comes immediately to mind.
