Default Oil pan Gasket

Sorry if this is asked already. I searched the forums but didnt see it.

2008 JK Sahara. Its leaking oil from the gasket. I cant tell if its the upper or lower pan. I plan to take them both off and replace. Ive searched you tube and the auto stores, but I only see a upper gasket. are they the same gasket? or is the lower RTV only?

Id rather use a gasket, Ive had great success with the higher end gaskets in the past.

there are lower pan gaskets out there as I have used one in the past. Actually I have sealed the pan both ways using gasket and with out. Went the gasket route first then tried it with no gasket. Seals up fine. Clean up is also easier with out a gasket to scrap off. I say go with out the gasket. By the way check out the aluminum lower pan from Pacific Performance Engineering.... pretty cool.

dont think I trust no gasket with this one.. dont know what the history is. Do you know if it is the same gasket as the top or is it labeled different?

I'd take a look here. I did mine a while back but used RTV. (This was edited to correct)
