Lots of discussion on this topic, try a search.

I recall seeing polls, and many threads on this subject, and welcome to the forum

That is a very personal choice. Personally I use WIX filters and good old Valvoline 5w20 conventional oil.

WIX filters:
Oil - 51348
Air - 49018

I just noticed that the jeep wants 5-20 wt. Seems like that's awfully thin when the engine heats up (especially on a hot day).

I would suggest sticking with Mopar oil filters...Why?? Because aftermarket filters are generic, made for multiple vehicle applications. Thus, may not provide the correct bypass setting (r.e. the filter's internal bypass spring setting). Bypass setting cannot be assured, and premature opening may occur...JMHO.

In my view any synthetic oil is an outstanding product...Avoid the big name brands (pure creatures of Madison Ave marketing gurus) and you can save yourself some money....I get synthetic in the O'Reilly or Wallmart brands...It's all coming from the same providers.
