I had mine come on about the same mileage, right around 2400 miles.
Looked in the manual and found out how to make it not show.
Dont know if it will show again but it hasnt so far.

My first change was around 2500 too. It seems to go by time, not distance. My Jeep is used mostly off road. Interesting that the change reminder has come on yet at 6K - maybe it knows it is "break-in oil" and wants a change sooner?

My ESP does the same thing, and my ABS activates prematurely - looks like I have a bad wheel sensor. Need to get that looked at...

Mine keeps coming on every 2500 miles.

I drive almost all hwy too and I don't abuse it. I have mobile 1 in it now too, I guess its not based on oil wear like some vehicles are.

Wow. Mine got changed at 2800 miles (6 weeks of ownership). I commute 9 miles each way so there's likely a few off-road miles/hours in there somewhere.

There's an oil change light

Boy, how come I've never seen that? Is that only in certain model years?

Don't think "on the house" is going to cover Mobil 1. You may want to start doing it yourself.

Change takes 15 min on the JK and no jack stands needed. You would only be saving $80 by having the dealer do it for the year anyways.
