Wix filters, or because there's only one Wix place around here for 100 miles, Napa Gold which is made by Wix for Napa, and Castol GTX 5w-20, but I've only done the first change so far. No drainback/dry start issues, even using cmpmacchia's test for dry start.

i'm not caring for the K&N thus far. it still dry starts

X2 I had to switch from the Mobile 1 filter due to a faulty antidrainback valve and thus dry starts, the motorcraft filter fixed this.

Nothing but Fram!!! For oil, I use valvoline (sp) 10w30.

5W20 Royal Purple and K&N filter... the engine runs smoother

stick with the SAE Oil Viscosity

Soooo - to answer your question about the 10W30 oil - shouldn'e be a problem as long as it's not in cold weather.... Others may disagree, but I've run thicker oils in engines that had lighter weight oils as "recommended" viscosity for fuel savings and I just sold that car with 238k on the odometer and not consuming ANY oil between changes - honestly I never noticed a fuel econonmy difference running the lighter or thicker oils either...
