Default Oil change Interval

Check on-line for any local dealer oil change specials. Mine is doing them for 29.95 As for DIY, I bought a Mopar filter at the dealership so I could do my own next time, it was $7.49, The same exact filter at Advance Auto parts was 7.88. A dealership part less than a parts store???? I'm staying with 3k mi interval and Castrol non-synthetic 5w20 at $22 for 12 quarts (2 changes). I also have a vacuum pump oil change device that allows me to suck out the old oil through the dipstick tube. It works really well on my wifes Toyota Avalon. I dont need to put it on ramps. The JK has plenty of room, but in the winter, laying on the ground (no garage) is no fun.

it may not come on by the time you do your service. but, when you do the oil change also do the reset procedure (as if the light did come on) so that it starts "counting" the algorithm all over again.

I must definitely fall under harsh driving - mine starts complaining about every 2600 miles.

There's a reminder chime when you start the Jeep, and a brief message in the odometer window.

Me too. First oil change at 3200 miles, reset my chime, started again before I hit 6000 miles, about 2600-2700 miles. I don't drive it harsh. I baby it if anything. Worst part of my driving is the short trip city driving...guess that could be considered harsh.
