Default Code

I had that same code from august until a few weeks ago. Its a bad catalytic converter with a bad sensor. If its under 80000 miles or under 8 years its covered by a emissions warranty. Take it to your dealer with the code on the jeep and theyll take care of it and shouldnt charge you.

Don't know what the emissions laws are in Canada, but in the US it's federal law to warranty it for 8 years or 80,000 miles, regardless of owner. I'm the second owner of my 08 JKU, took it in to the dealer last year at 72,000 miles for the same code. Fixed under warranty, no cost or hassle.

OP stated 160000 km on the clock.....that's 100000 miles
Regardless, if you don't at least ASK about warrantee coverage you won't ever get it.
Being an 09 I'd be surprised if the cat is actually toast I'd be making sure that the sensor is good and that the wiring is still there after all the cold weather and snow you've been driving through this year.
Remember the mailbox issue? Could just be a winter damage thing.

Winters are tough here! I'll definitely trace the wires back and check them all..father and law is a diesel mechanic and has the sockets to switch 02 sensors

I bought o2 sensors at local parts store and replaced myself. Took 15 minutes and less than $20. I didn't have to replace the Cat.

Thanks! I'll pick up some o2 sensors tommorow from my local carquest. I get cost plus 10% for parts there..so close to mechanic rate I think
