Default Noted Cracked Hose- Check it out

Noted cracked vacuum hose connected to brake booster: crack/ split? in hose running 1-2" from booster. I believe this could be linked to my 1900 RPM under load whine/ hiss/ vacuum leak sound (other forum members have noted as well?). Wrapped the hose with electrical tape- tight as can be. Will test drive tomorrow to see if the sound is still present. If not going to look into fuel rail, pcv valve, intake manifold, exhaust manifold etc etc etc.... 55k 2007 jk 2 door 6speed/ no major issues- still running strong! -J
