Default noob question

i was curious on how to take off the shifter trim on a 6sp manual im wanting to paint the trim piece

I believe it is just clipped there, and will come off with a bit of coaxing.

It's held by two clips in the rear on either side. just use a plastic pry tool (or something that is rigid but wont scratch your plastic) and pry up. The boot is attached to the ring in a way that wont separate unless you drill or basically damage the internal ring. So, you'll also have to pull off your shifter knob and pull the whole thing off. I'll work on a pic tomorrow if you need.

hey thank you for the info lol unfortunatly i couldnt wait for an answer from someone and i think i broke my trim ring i pulled it apart from the internal ring lol. umm so new question if you know the answer would that billet trim ring be able to reblce the plastic one or will i have to buy a whole new thing ?

i have the billet ring, you have to drill out your old ring, too seperate the rings.

You simply drill holes through the "screw heads" which are actually fake. That'll seperate the rings. its very easy. the instructions with the new ring will explain it

Stuff happens. I have the billet ring as well. You do need that internal ring, nothing super glue can't help fix. x2 what Piginajeep said.
