it'll never go into reverse if you are driving fast enough to be shifting from 5th to 6th. the incredibly loud grinding noise you hear is telling you it ain't gonna happen, so quit trying.

Hey Zee i just read what you have written about Renfrew Chrysler. They were the worst experience i've had in retail sales. Not just auto sales. The silly fools keep sending me surveys. I'm not sure what they are expecting.

My other car has reverse lockout. I'll get used to it. Only 500 k so far. Now I know to be careful.

i am only a yearling when it comes to driving a manual tranny .... so excuse me if this is a stupid question ... but why would one go from 4th to 6th ... without hitting 5th first?

5th gear to me is useless unless im towing my quads on the highway.

I usually start in 2nd and then 3rd 4th then 6th. 5th to me is just a waste of energy.

Hmmm. I've hit the Gate a few times, but I've never made it all the way into reverse. There appears to be a resistance lockout on mine... I.E. there's a point where you have to kind of give a little more effort to pass it into R.

A pal of mine has a 5speed TJ. He always forgets there's no 6th gear, and sometimes goes for it... GRINNNNNDDDDD

I have gone from 4th to 1st once. Thankfully, I figured it out before I let go of my clutch.
