Default No lift...stock 18in Sahara wheel..biggest tire?

I swear I searched...and I looked at the sticky page..but no info about 18 inch wheels. Basically I need to know how big of a tire I can run on the stock Sahara rim (18inch) with no lift and no rubbing - usefull suspension travel. I may be willing to run a spacer but I think I would prefer all stock. I am looking at BF Goodrich All Terrain TA's I think...but I am open to suggestion.

Thoughts? Pictures would be great too!

And I would prefer to not run a 17inch wheel...i like the look of my 18's

I am running 275/65R18 Goodyear Duratracs with no lift and no spacers. Only a little rub a full lock. Would not go much bigger with no mods. See my profile for pics.

I dropped down to a 17" rim. I looked at getting some 33x12.50R18 wheels on my stock sahara rims but damn they were way too much for the tires

So, I looked at getting a set of 17 rims and 33x12.50R17 tires...guess what it was about $100 more for 5 new 17" rims and tires than 5 - 33x12.50R18 Tires.

Just keep your options open on pricing...shop around and look at either 16 or 17" rims you could save some money and have a nice rim to boot!

x2 - if I were to do it again I would go straight to 17 or 16" rims with the proper back-spacing.

I think the stock 18 wt spacers and 33X12 1/2 is a nice set up...

What would be the correct back spacing to run a 285/ / 17 or 16 tyre without lift or spacers ? Could it be done ?

Any good looking rims come to mind

I'm in the same boat.. I don't want to switch to a 15" or 16" rim because I feel a 33" tire on that size rim would make the jeep feel "loose" when driving on paved roads.
I like the feeling the 18" rims/tires have when taking turns, getting off the highway.. etc..
So I'm back and forth on if I want to purchase 17" rims and run 33's or keep my 18" saharas and run a 33".
decisions.. decisions..
Let's hear your sales pitches!

I'm also in the same boat. I want to keep my 18" Sahara wheels and look at the 33"...interested to see this configuration. What tire are you guys liking for a 33"?

Love my Cooper STT's have over 50K km's on them and still over 1/2 tread left! They are a good tire for mud, snow, sand & rocks not so good on ice. It was between the Toyo MT or the Cooper STT's....STT's won out based on weight (10lbs- lighter/tire) & price ($120/tire) cheaper.
