Default New CB Radio

I need to purchase a cb radio and wanted to know which to get that is inexpensive but good quality.

Also installation, I am installation challenged is it easy to install or should I have someone do it for me.

Lastly antenna, where do I mount this I would prefer the rubber flex kind. Are they fine. Thanks for the help

Cobra 19 ultra III. Got mine at Walmart for $35

Installation is super easy. I'm install challenged as well, but I managed this one pretty easily.

Go to a local truck stop and look at their antennas. They have all kinds, and are well priced.

Frys. I run that cheap uniden, and my brother has the midland. Both work fine, and are super cheap. The whole setup costs only $55 or so

For a little more moolar take a look at the President Harry II. Great little CB, tough as they come and very well thought of globally. Quite small, too.

For a CB antenna go with the K40 Superflex. They come in varying lengths. I have a 2', 3' and 4' and they all work well and are easy to calibrate, which you'll need to do regardless of which kind you get.

For a mount, one of the best ones is this one:

which ships together with a 4' Firestick antenna, which also works well and is one that many on this forum use with good results. I just really like the K40s and tend to be brand loyal when I find one I like.

Here is where I mounted my radio and antenna. It looks like the radio would interfere with the passenger but it does not.

I bought this cb due to everything being controlled in the handset and the only thing to mount is a small little box that the antenna and mic attach to. It's more money than others ($82 delivered from ebay), but takes up very little space. I don't know if it works well or not and I've never really used a cb. But it's small.
