need help fast, seat belt jammed
I'm on vacation at the jersey Shore.
My passenger side seat belt is jammed. It wont't retract or pull out. It is not twisted.
Has any body had this happen? Is there any release under the plastic trim molding that covers thr belt reel?
Any help is appreaciated

Thanks for the replies. It took me a while to be able to reply 'cause the internet connection I had in Wildwood was iffy.
I called the dealership where I purchased my JK (Martin in Turnersville NJ). Got an answering machine at the service number. This was during normal working hours. The message said to set up an appointment on line and they would respond within 12 hours. Which I did.
Two days later, nothing. No call no email. Not a good way to do business.
So I called Pelligrino in Woodbury Heights. Their service dept answered the phone. I got an appointment for Wednesday Sept 17th. I'll let you know how I make out.
Friday evening I finally received a message on my cell from Martin. With some bla bla about being jammed up but they can get me in on Wednesday, also. Still no email response.
I'll call them back Monday and tell them that I've found a dealer service that can answer a telephone

Mine did this the other day when I gave a co-worker a ride to lunch. He was trying to put the seatbelt on but couldn't pull it, the motor was running ...clutch and brake were depressed. As soon as I released the brake the seatbelt was freed!!

treated good by dealer service
Just an update. Pelligrino Chrysler Jeep in Woodbury Heights NJ just called.
They replaced the seat belt on the passenger side completely. No charge, warranty repair. Also did the G-40 recall service.
The service manager said that he has had a couple of these jammed belts come in lately. Including one where a customer in a Liberty drove to the lot, called them on his cell and had to have them come out and cut him out of his belt. I told him about this forum and how a few members have also had a jammed seat belt problem.
I would advise everyone to have a knife in arms reach if such an occasion should arise. Bad news to be trapped at any time in a vehicle.
Many more of these and I predict a recall.
Anyway, Pelligrino did right by me. No BS at all.
