The problem here is that the majority of dealers are not too sharp. If you ask 3 different service advisers you more than likely will get 3 different answers. I have no idea why Chrysler recommended 5W-30 for the 3.6 in 2012 and now recommends 5W-20 for the 3.6 in 2013. I have used 5W-20 for years in Ford products in hot So.Cal. without a problem and will continue to use 5W-20 in my 2013 Jeep. I'm not convinced it's only about CAFE.

Another vote for penzoil ultra synthetic. I put it in at 10k and again at 15k. I now have 16k on my 2012. Very happy with the penzoil ultra. Can buy in 5 quart jugs at the wallymart. Also, my last filter I had to get an STP because superstorm sandy had my local jeep dealers closed for over a week. I have to say that the STP looked identical in every way to the mopar filter, even down to the mold lines on the plastic parts.

Had a free oil change at the dealer today, they used 5-30,I didn't say a word but am keeping the receipt. so if they give me crap about using 5-30 i'll show them what they put in.
I'll change oil myself in the future. 2013 unlimited sport.
