My fix for transfer case cable
Long story short... ground tit off case shift lever, used a 5/16 bolt and a rivnut(if you've ever installed a factory roof rack on a Suburban you know what I mean) used a couple 10mm inside diameter washers on each side of cable and its FIXED. If I can get these damn pics to load I'll put them in here.

right to left.... bolt head (5/16x1) lever, inner washer, body of rivnut, 3 washers (m10) for spacers... yeah it's not a good pic
The outer dia of rivnut is close to inner dia of cable so I went that route, the washers are mainly used as spacers as the rivnut only has threads on the inner end so it couldn't be cut down

My original intent was to thread the tit that's on the lever but the hardness prevented that, so I ground off the backside of tit and popped out, drilled to 5/16 then went with bolt/rivnut setup

That looks like a very good fix. Worth doing at home, BEFORE it breaks in the field.

Looks like I've got yet another thing to tend to before my vacation next month. Goody, how did you do this? Remove the piece in question, drill a hole and add a cotter or what?

Sorry for my ignorance here but can someone post a pulled back photo of where this cable is located. I was under the Jeep today and for the life of me couldn't find it...Help!
