Default Mopar 10 year 150k Mile Coolant Question

Who makes this newer OAT coolant? Zerex? Peak?

Pretty sure what you want to look for is the ASTM D-3306 rating. You can get it from any parts store from any number of manufacturers.

I've found the Mopar OAT to be somewhat reasonably priced at the local dealers. I think I pay ~$23/gallon for concentrate which isn't a whole lot more than what I pay for Zerex (for some other vehicles) at the local auto stores. Peace of mind is worth a couple bucks to me.

Yep, the 50/50 is about $22 at Amazon while Zerex Dex Cool is about $20. Valvoline says their current Zerex Dex Cool is exactly the same formula.

I like to keep a gallon of pre-mix in my JL when I go on big off-road trips. I'm contemplating going from HOAT in my JK to the OAT Mopar in 4 years. I just had my radiator replaced at about 148k, so the HOAT in it now is still new.

The Zerex Dex Cool has that rating, so it sounds like the Valvoline rep was spot-on! Peak's Dex Cool has it, too!

Peak's Global also has it and notes non E-2 formula, which is good and matches the latest Dex Cool formula, from what I've read. So Peak really has 2 options.

These are all rated 5 years, 150k miles. I wonder what might be different that leads Mopar to 10 years? Maybe its the same and they just believe it can be extended? Then again, we know the 5 year rating helps the companies in the coolant business. Either way, I plan on draining and filling every 5 years, regardless of the rating on the bottle.

So that gives us some easy options. Thanks again!
