Moleage Reading
Have had my 08 for one month, 1600 miles. Things are great, no major problems. The built in mileage guage has been fairly accurate. It would only change periodically around town or trips, of course around town it went down to around 17 and on trips about 22-23. Last week it started acting strange -constantly changing. At red lights or when stopped and running it would slowly roll back to zero. Anyone have an idea what is going on?

Yeah- sounds like you reset it. When it displays the mileage, if you hold the button for a few seconds it will reset the calculations. I do that periodically, especially when driving in town because if I had recently done a lot of highway driving, the average will be high. And then when I start driving in town it will be showing an unrealistic 17-18mpg. But I know that unrealistic number is because the highway miles have created a higher average. So I'll reset it while driving in town, and then see a more realistic 12-14mpg. And yes, once it is reset, it will do a lot of moving around. Though even while stopped at a light I have never had it go to zero.
Are you really only gettting 12 - 14?

Yes. But here's the thing- it is 6 miles to my office. Within that 6 miles there are 12 stop lights/signs, and mostly 40mph speed limits. So about the time you've reached 40mph, its time to stop again... This means you are always either sitting still or accelerating. That's not a good combo for good gas mileage

Damn!!! I am getting between 18 and 21 depending on just how fast I go.
I commute 40 miles each way - country back roads to 4 lane highway up and over a mountain. How many miles on your rig? I have found I just kept improving the longer I drove it... I have 36k now and it seems to have stopped improving. Hell - I'm getting between 5 and 8 MPG better with this than my LJ.
