I just bought a Fram Tough Guard TG3600 oil filter for $ 6.99 at auto zone . It does mention the ANTI-DRAINBACK VALVE on the box. I will use it w/Mobil-1 oil at my next oil change. This will take place in about 1700 miles, and will take me thru some of the cold weather this winter. Then mid-winter at that next oil change I will make a decision to stay with the Fram......... or go back to the Mobil-1 filter. We shall see what we shall see.........

Mobil 1 used to be made with 100% syn. oil (group 4 pao's) like Amsoil and Schaeffers now it is hydrocracked dino oil.
R U sure of that?

I actually sent an email Last week and they responded with an 800 number to call. I called and it was Champion Labs (they make the Mobil-1 filters). I spoke to Bob about the problems we have been having and he said they recently discovered and fixed a problem with a glue gun or something that does part of the assymbly. They have now fixed it and that may have fixed the faulty ADBV issue.

He also suggested returning any filter back to the store you purchased it at and they will return it to champion labs for analasys. You may also get a replacement or refund doing that. He said that without samples there isn't much they can do to fix the problem since it hasn't shown up in the lab.

I plan on pulling my current filter soon and returning it, i'll probably switch to Napa or Wix temporarily then maybe try a Mobil-1 again next spring (give all old inventory a chance to clear out).

I'll stick with Fram and Motorcraft.

For some good info about filters read this:

http://www.knizefamily.net/minimopar...reference.html

It shows what is what and why no self respecting car/truck person would run Fram on anything they actually want to keep running.

Hey the link did not work, maybe the moderators got involved, so could you Pm me the link. Thanks

Great info guys! I just picked up the Fram/Mobile 1 filter and oil combo (tired of the wait at the dealer) so i can sleep a bit easier knowing there's no oil pressure issues on start-up.

I understand there's a thin film of oil left on parts in the engines after shutdown, but that doesn't make me like the sound of the valve train hammering itself to death.

These are the two oil filters I use. Both ADBV work flawlessly. The Motorcraft FL400S Is twice the length so I made the switch. Its easier to get a filter strap on it and I like fact that its larger. The ADBV on the Motorcraft is silicone.
