I just took a weekend trip down to NC and back. Most of the drive was down Hwy 17 south so it was 55 speed limit most of the way. Going down Saturday morning there was a lot of wind blowing and it seems to have affected my mileage. Going down I got 20.4 hand calculated. Coming back on Sunday was a better day with no wind so I attribute that to better mpg. Coming back I got 24.1 hand calculated. The computer was showing 24.4 most of way. I kept the cruise on 58-59 most of the time as well.

Wife's JK with 6500km still gets 19 USMPG City and highway 23 USMPG. This is running on 33 sneakers with 3:73, 6 speed. I am still why this JK is getting Honda Numbers....NEVER expected these numbers....but I will take them when gas is $1.28/liter or $4.87/Gallon.
23/19 is not "high" by any means. When I say Honda numbers, I say Honda Civic 30+MPG numbers. 23/19 might be "decent" for a Wrangler, but not enough by any means compared to grocery getter fuel economy cars.

you are comparing apples to oranges with Wrangler and a Civic.....

Try comparing my wifes JK Wrangler fuel economy with a Honda CR-V or Pilot!

Compare a civic with a Wrangler

Might as well compare a GMC 3/4 ton to a Toyota Prius.

I bought a honda for cheap... 94 accord... 31 mpg avg... keep the miles off my jeep (and soon to be 35" mud terrains) and gives me the fuel economy of champions!

No doubt. With the current gas situation, I am thinking seriously about a clunker (old) honda or toyota for work.

With a stock (except the muffler) auto Rubicon with a HT, I am getting 18mpg with 2300 miles on the clock. 75% of my driving is on a hilly highway (210) with cruise control set at 65. When on level parts of the highway, the tach reads 1.5K rpms. On climbs, it goes up to 3K. I must be the only one who's on board computer matches my manual calculations. I am hopeful that as I get closer to the 6K mile mark, the mpg will get a little higher, but if not, I am happy with 18.

You're not alone!!! My dash readout is slowly coming down to the actual numbers. I have never reset mine. Have you?

My best has been 19. Usually get 18. I'm at 4,200 miles now.
