Miles per Gallon :(
what is the best rpms to shift at for optimal miles per gallon? i usually shift between 2500 and 3000 and i go thru 1.5 tanks a week

Yeah, keep them down and MPG will go up. I see a lot of guys with the 6 speed will try to shift at 2000rpms for economy. Might not be as fun to drive, especially if you have the 3.21's. Also don't speed on the highway, I've found this to be one of the biggest impacts on the overall as well, but it's tough when traffic is doing 10mph over on a regular basis.

My city mpg sucks at anywhere from 11 to 13 mpg. Luckily I don't usually put more than 50 miles a week on it since I live so close to work. Out on the highway is a different matter though. On the interstate I generally lock the cruise in around 68-70 mph and get 21-22 mpg. I recently drove from here in Newport News to Charlotte, NC and averaged a little over 21 mpg.
If I travel non-interstate highways, like Hwy 17 south out of Virginia, the mpg improves because I'm cruising around 58-60 mph. I usually get in the 23-24 mpg range. the best trip down to the inlaws netted 26.1 mpg but I had a good tail wind blowing on the day.
I have a 08 Sahara Unlimited with auto and 18" wheels. I didn't buy it for gas mileage but said I'd be happy with anything over 20mpg so it has exceeded my expectations. All my caclulations are by hand and backed up by GPS. The Jeep has about 9400 miles on it and had no problems with it so far.

I really have no idea how people are getting the mpg that high. I drive slow, don't rev high...and I live in FL, so it's all highway and no hills!
And I can't break 17mpg Whatever, I didn't buy it for mpg anyway.
