Default Miles to KMs please!

Ok, after a month driving, i notice that my odometer and trip odometers (trip A and trip B) are displayed in miles?? i changed the left display to the system we use (here we use Celsius grades for temp and kms).... can i set my odometer and trip odometers to KMs? there's no km or miles display, only the numbers, so i'm not really sure BUT i went to a place 130 KMs away and the trip A (wich i reset before leaving) only said 82 (i say miles because that's almost 130 kms)....

i need to be sure if it is displaying miles and if it is possible to change it to KMs!

p.s: i was looking into the manual but no system change information for the right panel.

Due to regulations and standards the odometer numbers on the actual spedometer guage must remain in the primary scale printed on the speedo dial. On the JK speedo which displays both MPH & KM/H, the white set of numbers on the outside in bigger print is the primary scale, so if it's MPH then that's what your odo & tripmeters are factory set to; miles.

That's a bummer if your can't switch them up. Civics can switch on the fly.

Hmmm. Try putting your odometer to the main screen (no trips showing) and depress the reset switch. Hold it down for a few seconds and see if it changes. I know that works on one of my vehicles...I just don't recall off the top of my head whether its the Jeep.

Press and hold the button that you use to cycle through the temperature / trip / fuel mileage etc. If you hold the button it will change from metric to imperial or imperial to metric units.

Now, I am in Canada so maybe that option is only on the Canadian models

You're talking about the left screen, that is OK. I need the change on the right screen and it does nothing when pressing and holding the button.

Looks like it can't be changed :(

Ahhhhhhh, now I know what you are saying. What is on the outside of your speedo? If its MPH then that is what your ODO is recording in

yeah, it is MPH the big white numbers... i'm gonna have to memorize the conversion and learn to multiply big numbers, or learn to use my iphone's converter while driving, or learn to think in miles, or change the speedo, or change the jeep.... yeah right!
