Well, it's not worthless, but it's not a big deal to not have it. I think if it was worthless DC would've left it off to make out JK's even cheaper than they are.

I also had hood lift with the air dam, I do think it's possible that it could be even worse on a JK without it though. Who knows without empiricle test data though.

I had the same issue. Took off the hood spring and it is fixed. It is completely normal to have the hood flutter, and there is nothing Jeep or a dealership can or will do about it since the only options are taking off the spring, using a zip tie, or using the Day Star rubber pieces.

Here's another fix that I stumbled across a few weeks back. I bet if you combine all the little fixes it'll for sure eliminate the problem.

This worked great for me also. I can still open the hood with no problems and once closed it doesnt bounce at all. Spend 2 bucks on zip ties and everything is better. How can you beat something that works great and is super cheap?

I had the same problem, zip ties cured it but I never liked the look. Tried the Daystar straps. Problem solved.

the aftermarket urethane replacement latches work perfectly!
I put them on the second week I had my JK.
My hood would travel around 1.5-2 inches on the highway....now nothing.

I did the Jeep brand bug deflector and that took care of most of it but I do still get a little lift once in a great while in severe wind and a truck passes me.

Sooo, my Hood Wranglers showed up today along with my spare tire cover. Now I need to figure out how to break those pins off and replace them.

The tie wrap worked well until one broke in half. It had been on a couple of weeks. Probably cheap Chinese crap.

Are you saying a plier on each side, gripping both heads of the pin, or to more or less squeeze them and twist with one plier? Thanks for the tip by the way.
