Default Loose Hood, Dealer NO help!!

So this morning I was getting on the highway and a semi passed by and the hood stretched the rubber tie downs all the way to were the center safety latch caught the hood(this is not the first time this has happened). So I decided I was tired of this crap and immediatly called the dealer and ended up going to dealer at 1:30 this afternoon. Long story short after they looked at it and I took the service rep down the road and showed him what it was doing they still tell me that there is no adjustment and that there is nothing they can do. Service rep did agree that it was excessive and should not be doing it but still offered no help stating his hands were tied and if they didn't find anything actually wrong or broke there is nothing they can do! What a load of BS! Ok the question is I know this dealerships service dept sucks but will it be any different if I go somewhere else 45 min drive? Is it worth it to go to another dealer on this or should I just buy the daystar hood ranglers and call it done. I feel like jeep should take care of this but I can order the ranglers and have them shipped as cheap or cheaper than driving to another dealer that still may not fix the problem. Sorry that this is so long I just needed to rant and want everyones opinion on this.

We feel your pain and you're not alone. Try taking the hood spring off and that should correct 90% of the problem. Do a search for hood lift and you'll find a few fixes.

Your signature says all stock, so I guess you are not lifted.
How about the front air dam. Still on?

Brother I'd just buy the hood latches and call it a day. Mine's done it since day one and with a good head wind I think the hood is just going to fly up and make my jeep look like something out of a cartoon. I've chalked it up to the rubber/plastic hood latches that they use on the new wranglers as my both of my YJ's and my CJ didn't have that problem. Hope this helps. BTW where are you a FF at??

Zip ties. Works like a charm. Did the fix at a service station after getting some pretty good hood wiggle driving through the Crowsnest pass.

No not lifted but at this time I do not have a bumper or air dam took it all off and put my winch on and am in the process of having a custom front bumper built.

I think I will hit woods up and see what he has to offer and/or order the aftermarket hood latches.

I am a FF for Denison TX.

That explains why you have a higher than normal pressure under the hood.

So once I have the bumper finished will the problem end or should I still seek an aftermarket fix??

I would go with a fix anyway.
The missing air dam is a factor, also. It was installed to lower the air pressure under the hood so more air would flow through the radiator. Engine cooling at high speed and load is not the best feature of the Wrangler.

1. Forget the dealer
2. Order a set of Daystar hood latches
