Default Looks like my Jeep is breathing.......

When it is chilly outside, after a few minutes of driving, i get steam out of the front grill of my 09 Rubi. Is it just me or does this happen to all jeeps. It is the same "steam" that you see when others go through a mud pit, just not as bad. I have a new Grand CHerokee that does the same but not as much. Any ideas?????

In order to get steam there must be water or moisture. Whether it is melting ice, snow, rad leak, or splash. I hate to state the obvious but...

I was worried about the same thing. Check out the link. It's normal to have the steam...

So then, what is the source of the steam?

It's normal, providing there are no leaks.
The heated air rises from the radiator, and when it cools, water vapor condenses out of it.

Mine used to do it when the atmospheric conditions were just right.
Since I installed the mechanical fan, it no longer does it because now air is always being pulled through the radiator and into the engine bay.
