Mine is the same way. If the door is closed they will lock, but if the key is in the ignition and the door is open the lock switch will not function.

I use the remote start so even if the doors do lock I have the keys in my pocket. :D

I forgot all about the credit card keys. I had one years ago for another car...had to play with it sometimes to get it to work, but it saved me a couple of times.

Luckily, I have a soft top too, so no worries of getting locked out.
