Why does it sound like Luke and Darth are dueling with lighsabers under my hood whenever I shut off my Jeep?

i can't believe i just came across this thread...i had the same issue when i bought my 08' Rubi.....drove me nuts and to this day i still don't know what it was. It went away within a couple of months and it has been 2 1/2 years since and all is good.

i hope you figure it out so i can put my mind at ease about that mystery sound.

to me it almost sounded like electronic tennis or signals being "bounced" back and forth...........werdsign:

Was your AC on when you shut down? It could be water dripping from the AC onto something hot.
