Front Driver spring 16
Rear P/S spring 59
Rear D/S spring 58

My question is WTF ? 4 different springs? Should I switch out that 58 for another 59?
Second question, should I move the 17 to drivers side and put an 18 on front passenger side?
Thanks all.
If it is level from side to side I wouldn't change em. If you can find a set of 19s for the front it might come close to leveling it front to back though, only worth it if they are very inexpensive. Now if you were going from 14/13 definitely worth it.

Just installed some red Rubicon shocks/springs that are 18/60, on my 2010 Sahara 2dr that had a stock 14/56 setup. gained 2" up front & 1.5" in the rear.

can't wait to get my 33" Coopers installed soon.

Should I assume a B means 5001-6000 lbs?

Thanks.

Guys,

So Here is my 2 cents and story...

Got a great deal on Rubi springs (18/60s) and Red Shocks.

I have a 2011 Sport S no tow package..(16/56).

After swap, I gain about 1 inch overall, about inch and quarter in rear. I will say the rubi shocks with stiffer springs are really a must needed upgrade for stock/standard JKs.

Anyway, for 150 bucks all around (take offs had 25 miles on them) I was well worth the money.

Ok, I've read as much as I could in regards to springs and shocks and the differences between models. First of all I have some info for the Canadian members out there. Even though the stamp on my front and rear shocks reads (front 68028415AC, rear 68028455AC) these are not the actual part numbers that are used on the moparpartscanada site which is the site your dealer uses. The actual part numbers for the shocks are (front 68047812AD rear 68047812AB). Just thought this might helpful to anyone talking shocks with their local dealership.

I think I'm starting to get a handle on this. I currently have a 2014 JKU sport and like many before me want to swap out my stock shocks because they ride like crap. I had a 2009 Sahara a few years ago and it definitely had a nicer ride. What I want is a smoother ride on road as well as a slight lift. I climbed under the jeep yesterday and see that I have a 17/58 spring set up front/back. From what I understand, that's on the higher end of the spring rating chart so I understand that going to an 18/59 or 19/60 wouldn't make much of a difference in my ride height so I'll probably put a 1.5inch spring spacer for a slight lift just to increase my stance as I only do very little off roading. Currently my height at the centre of the bottom of the front fender is 35.25" and 35.5" at the rear fender. What I want to know is should I be looking for used sahara or rubi shocks. I've read that either is better than what comes with the sport model but which will give the smoother ride? I've also read that sahara and rubi shocks are longer than sport shocks, is this true?

As far as Sahara shocks vs Sport, They are the same "standard" equipment. Meaning; I've seen a few Sahara's with what's called "Heavy Duty" suspension = came with red Rubi shocks.

So red shocks are what you are looking for.

As to the length. Here are pics side by side.

Fronts are the same.

Rears are about 3/4 of an inch longer. (the white ones are factory Sport shocks painted white)

So are you saying that some sahara's come with the red rubi shocks now? I'm pretty sure my 2009 Sahara didn't have the rubi shocks. I'm just wondering if I should be looking to replace my stock sport shocks with sahara or rubi shocks.

There are only two types of factory shocks.

Red shocks are mono tube and gas charged like most better replacement shocks.

Black shocks are twin tube, oil dampened like most cheap aftermarket shocks.

So, it doesn't matter what model they come on, just make sure they are red.
