Keyless Entry Range
I have not seen this posted and I did a quick search... Is anyone else having a problem with their keyless entry? I'd estimate working range to about 5 feet to unlock or lock the doors -- basically within reach of the door handle... worst of any car I've ever owned!

Maybe a weak battery? Mine works great, so does my father in laws. Hell his remote start works from like 150ft. away. My 06 dodge truck was terrible though about 20 to 30 feet.

I've been wondering the same thing...If I get more than 10' away and try to lock...have to walk back and make sure it locks. Might have to reprogram the horn sound (which I disliked) to know it's locked. Maybe new battery is needed but the range has been poor since I took delivery.

Thank you for the replies!! -- after hearing of your great range -- I'll put it on my list when I bring it in! I mean... for the keyfob to practically be in the door in order to work -- what's the point of it@!#!@#!@# Thanks again!

as ridiculous as it sounds, the transmitter will use your body as an extender; ie a big antenna.
how about this, use your fob to lock your jeep. walk down the street until just the point where it no longer responds. then take 10 steps even further away and face your jeep with your fob pressed against the bottom of your chin. click it. be amazed. go kiss your wife and tell her the amazing news.

bad range
I have had my JK for almost 2 months. my range has been about 10 feet since day one. I wasn't very happy about it but thought it was just a Jeep thing.
Thanks to seeing this thread, Now I think maybe I have a problem.
I searched around a saw something about having your keys reflashed to the computer by the Dealership.
I have had the poping sounds on my speakers and was waiting for something else before I took it into the Dealer. Now I have reason number 2.
If this range thing can be fixed that wil be great!!
