This happened from a dump truck going in the other direction. Glass actually flew in my face. ( was wearing sunglasses)
The oem glass is quite expensive. But if u don't need the little jeep in the corner u can get aftermarket glass and cost about $170 cad installed.

My first replacement was Mopar, the second Mexican. The third, going in this week will be another Mexican. I can tell no difference, a rock breaks them all the same. If you carry a $0 comp deductible then glass breakage with a JK is no problem. A $500. comp deductible is like making an extra Jeep payment every year because you will have to buy a glass regularly.

My window guy , also my Neighbour said the Mopar glass is made in china. You can tell by the "ccc" marked on it. They are not awesome quality , but not bad either. Which is why mine shattered so much when the rock hit it.
With our winters and rocks on roads I change mine every year. Cheaper than paying extra for the insurance.
My glass guy says that there is a lot in the quality install. Shouldn't have tape around glass, usually their hissing imperfections. And if not installed correctly the jk windows can whistle.

I've been working in export for decades. The CCC marking just means it meets Chinese safety standards. It does not necessarily mean that's where its made, but it could be made in China. They sell alot of jeeps there.

About & years ago ehile driving home from work my window was shot out by a kid shooting rocks onto the highway with a sling shot. In addition to breaking my window the rock also broke my jaw. He was caught by the police K9 unit and was arrested. Luckily I didn't lose control of the vehicle as I was doing about 50mph at the time. Glad you are alright.

I can not under stand why you would not have that covered on your auto insurance. This way you pay $0

I'm thinking of having mine replaced now. I have a pretty long crack going down the passenger side for a while now.
