I've got the ding on the passenger side. I really thought I caught the door in time and it didn't go all the way. I didn't even look for the ding - I noticed it a few days later. Curse words.

I did the same thing on my passenger side. Several curse words were said also. Then I was able to take the quarter size dent down to a 1/8" size.
I took the windshield bracket off so I could see what I was doing and slid a long screwdriver in from under the hood side. I could then put the end of it on the dent and slowly pry on it little by little to reduce the size. My screwdriver was actually the right size to just spin it and it pressed against a peice on the inside. It worked almost perfectly.
