Just to be different...

07 X Unlimited with AT, power pkg, HT, 4.10, bone stock, 5k miles.....It doesn't leak, it gets 18 to 22 mpgs and has never had the slightest problem. It couldn't be better.
I think a lot of the "problems" that some are having with their Jeeps are a direct result of the monkeying around with lifts and gigantic wheels/tires, and electronics. I've always been of the mind that the designers and factories could build cars better than I can, so I always just buy the car that I want, the way I want it, to start with. I've rarely had problems.
This, BTW, is my 7th Wrangler, and the others have been just as good to me.

"To those of us who are real Jeep guys and girls (yes girls are real Jeepers), we know creature comforts are nice and that they do not detract from the quality, style, and just plain fun of owning a Jeep Wrangler. So whoever you are out there just enjoy your Jeep and have fun! Mine is perfect!
And WAVE DAMMIT!

I am a senior Jeeper "girl" and am a bit shy about posting. Thank you for that kind statement. [B]I love our JK![B] This is our 3rd Jeep. And yes, please wave. We try to wave whenever we see a fellow Jeeper. I'm guessing about 10% return the wave. I must admit a few times I was distracted and failed to return a wave myself so I understand there are those times. Our Jeep is not quite 3 months old and has about 6,000 miles on it. Except for the clunk in the pillar it has been totally trouble free. We drive primitive mountain roads most of the time and a so pleased with its reliability and comfort. We've had a blast enjoying it but alas, the snow is starting to close mountain access so there are fewer places to explore. Maybe we will just practice winching other vehicle slide offs.

Love my Jeep. Wife... not so much... lol. My 3 year old loves it (and convinced the wife that I should buy it). Only had the little leaking issue with the hard top. Fixed now. I came from an '84 CJ 7 to an '08 JK Unlimited. Wow, what a difference. I kinda miss the horrible steering, no power, and that parachute styled soft top.... NAAAA. I am very pleased that Jeep made a Jeep for the family. Don't care who doesn't think that 4 doors belong on a Jeep. 4 doors/AC/ Auto/ and infinity sound system with sub. 4 years ago... IE: before kids... I may have laughed as well. I think that this wrangler is for the grown ups. If people don't like it, don't buy it.
Ohh... side note: I'm only getting 12-15 MPG. Maybe I have a cement foot???

I love my Rubicon and the comfortable ride and features that it has. I Drive from florida to alabama and farther to go wheeling and love that fact that i can get good MPG and still hear my radio. My YJ while a wheeling machine sucked driving it anywhere to go wheeling and so i stayed local.
My rubicon has been to Hard rock, morris mountain orv, and going to river rock soon and it has never let me down.

Yes if you put 40" swampers on a Dana 30 and routinely go through deep mud you are setting yourself up for failure, common sense. The Wrangler has and always will be one of the most highly modified vehicles and the factory knows that.
As for DC designers/engineers knowing what they are doing? That is not true, designers can design the most capable off-road Wrangler, but it would probably have to cost three times as much as it does now. Accountants and profit drive a company to use a recycled mini-van engine, cheap tires and wheels, cheap plastic, and cost cutting paint techniques.
I love my Jeep and don't plan on trading it in for a while. It is still the best off-road vehicle made, because it is so easy to modify, or leave it stock if you want.
