5 on 5 buddy. Why they did that, ill never know. But it sure limits your wheel options.

It was a weaker bolt pattern according to the Jeep engineers. I read a post on here that they decided this due to the strenght of the 5x5. Sounds to me like wind blowing up someones ....

Please don't get 20's....it's a Jeep...... treat that JK nice if you are considering new wheels get some 16 or 17's with bigger mud terrain rubber and hit some mud....say no to low profile tires .

It's your Jeep, but I agree with TripleJeep. The general rule of thumb is that the wheels should be about half the tire diameter. So, 18s would suggest at least 35" tires. And you'd probably be better off with 17" wheels and 35s. Remember: Sidewalls are protection for your rims from rocks, bumps, fallen trees, etc. Narrow is good in rims, too. Many of us run 8" rims because they keep the tire bead in place. Wide rims are more susceptible to losing a bead while wheeling.

Don't plan to wheel? That's cool. But why not at least keep up the pretense that you could, should you want, rather than desecrate a fine, off-road vehicle (all those clueless celebrities not-withstanding)?

So, I guess a 5x5.5 won't fit on the JK?

Only with an adapter. I believe both Spidertrax and Teraflex make them.
