Default JK Engine Fire but not part of the recall?

Is the 3.8 in the JK the same as th e3.8 in the GM vehicles being recalled?

Nope. Chrysler is not GM.

Naw. If the 3.8 in the Jeep was the same 3.8 that GM makes, these Jeeps would haul ass and nobody would be bitchin about them. I am appalled at this recall. Look at the year span. 1997-2003. They are gonna be doin recalls on pieces of rollin SHIT. LMAO.

You got that right about the PsOS, but a quick search showed the 3.8 that was in the Lumina to be about the same specs (hp/tq-wise) as the JK engine. Not sure it'd make much difference.

true... I just assume Chrysler and GM both got their 3.8s form the same chinaman

This will grow, just watch. The 3.8L GenII and GenIII are pretty much identical and already the genIII 04 and beyond GP owners are upset since they have had this problem too.

And besides this issue this is one hell of an engine. I had an 04GP GT2 (not supercharged) and it was great. The versions with the SC haul arse too, though you can bend some internals if you get too crazy with yoru bolt ons with the SC version.

GM transmissions on the other hand for the GP were teh suck.
