Default JK computer

Is there a difference between the X, Sahara and Rubicon computers?

We installed the OEM Rubicon axles, back in June and have tried countless times to get the "front/rear locked" (or whatever it says, forget, in the manual though). It does not illuminate.

I have a 08 X. Can the dealer fix this, or is this function only available on Rubicon models?

Did you installed the OEM Rubicon switches (Axle Lock/Sway Bas/ESP)?
The computer need it to enable the Axle Lock light

You might have to take it to the dealer and have them activate that option in the computer. The computer can't control it if it doesn't know to look for it.

You could wire them to a couple toggle switches.

No because he bought the OEM Rubicon axles (and not aftermarket axles)

That's fine. I've read many threads where people put the stock lockers into an X and use toggles. With using toggles you can use the lockers in 4high if need be. Not just 4low like factory.

The computers are not different that I'm aware of. You just need to have that option enabled using a starscan.

You can still wire them to toggle switches, a bunch of people have done it so they could have more control of their lockers with out the parameters that the stock lockers have via the computer (like the ability to be locked in 4HI).

Wasn't sure on this .. I will be calling the dealership in town tommorow. IF they don't know what I am talking about I will be calling Jacksonville dealership.

If its that easy, I will be one happy woman after its fixed, if thats all it needs done.

Why would you need lockers in 4H? I don't get enough traction at all in 4H, would that solve the problem.

THANKS GUYS!

dang sure couldn't hurt your traction in 4hi to have a locker. Might not wanna run lockers over about 20mph though, not when u might be turning either.
