JK 2 door, passenger door hits dash
I took my doors off for about a week and put them back on recently and now the passenger door is hitting the dash and I have to slam the door to shut it. Help. Can I adjust it using the bolts on the body side? I've looked into the ability to adjust on the door side but I don't think that will help, the door need to move out from the body, not side to side.

You can adjust on the body side but then you risk the Jeep leaking because it doesn't have a tight seal. I can say the door shuts differently after having the door off but usually it goes back to normal after a few closes.

I can't even picture how it's hitting the dash unless you totally pushed in where the body side hinges are. It doesn't sound like anything like that happened or else you would have mentioned it. This is odd.

Ya I have both pins. I put on accessory mirrors and was thinking maybe I tightened the torx bolts too tight so I loosened them up a bit and it helped a little but the door still hits the dash. The door sits in the frame further then the drivers side. The drivers side is nearly flush, maybe sits out about a 1/8 inch, the passenger door sits in about a quarter, but it definitely hits the dash. I think I might have to adjust on the body side and just take my chances with leaks and fix as needed. Thanks guys

What torx did you use for mirrors that would adjust door position? You should be able to see where the Jeep was painted from the factory to get a decent idea of where the hinges should land.

Those don't change door position. I've had mine off and completely dropped the windshield without running into alignment issues afterwards. Something else is at play here.
