Do you think putting this on my hood will help reduce the visibility of some small hail dents?

Absolutely. I had a pretty good cluster of dings on the front of my hood from kneeling on it and now you can hardly make them out. If you REALLY look for them you can spot them, but WAY less noticeable for sure.
