Jeep Won't Start
Hey,
Pardon my automotive ignorance. My Jeep engine died tonight, and I can't get it going again.
Check out this video of the engine as I try and start 'er up:
Jeep Engine Trouble - YouTube
Any ideas? Starting motor? Battery?
The electrical system is cutting out, lights flickering etc. It's a 2008 2dr auto.
Help would be appreciated.
Here's what the dash is telling me:

I'm actually having the same sound and symptoms. I couldn't get it going with a jump start either. Battery is under a year and everything electrical seems to work fine when I turn them on, just won't start.
It started to hesitate about a month ago when starting. I assumed spark plugs, so I had them all replaced. Been a week, and now this...nothing.

Consider...
...taking the terminals off and using a hammer to gently reshape the posts. A good indication you need to do this is that the dome light will come on but upon cranking- NOTHING. Or you can drive and it will die and not start. Loosening and re positioning the terminals helped, but I began to get weird DTC codes... until I reshaped the posts.
They are a soft metal and prone to distorting. This causes voltage spikes and drops, and plays havoc with the CAN-BUS system and can throw codes. All my weird codes disappeared after I did this.

Jk'a are known to have grounding issues, remove and clean the battery terminals, then add an additional ground wire from the negative terminal to the alternator bracket, you can also remove the original ground wire on the chassis and I bet its painted underneath it. Scrape some if the paint off and reinstall. If its not the neutral safety switch, starter, or battery it self, This is your problem...I recommend doing it anyway, your jeep will always start from then on, until your battery, starter, our neutral safety switch dies!
