Jeep shakes when I back up an incline but not on flat ground.
Has anyone heard of anything like this before? I bought a new 2011 4 door JKU sport 2 months ago and it has done it since the day i brought it home. I took it to the dealership and they have no idea what it could be. My driveway is on a incline "see picture" and when i back up it, going easy on the gas as to not drive into my house the jeep shakes violently. If i gun it i have no shake but i don't really think i should have to "gun it". I think they changed out the rubber between the transmission and the frame so far and that didn't fix anything. I've even had the problem when trying to back up onto a curb. One would think that backing up in a Jeep wouldn't feel like i am trying to climb a mountain with a moped....
Any Ideas?

Mine does that occasionally. No idea. Just brushed it off as a "jeep thing"

Has it effected anything major? Does it do that when you're off road also? I was thinking it might be a power issue or a maybe to much play in the drive line....but i'd be guessing at best.

Mine is in the shop at the moment for a similar issue... it shudders at idle (while in drive) and between 40-55 mph.
Could be a torque converter issue, could just be a Jeep thing, could be a world of things...

Our 10 does the same. It's one of the few anomalies the Jeep has that seems purely mechanical vs. the slow single-threaded computer issues like headlight and throttle delays.

My 2011 also does the same thing and has done it since day 1. My buddy is the service manager at the dealership that I use and he is trying to get to the bottom of it. I think that most all of them do it.
