Wow. I especially like this quote:

"The Auburn Hills-based automaker contends that the issue only presents itself when the plastic o-ring on the inlet check valve swells from being exposed to fuel with a concentration of ethanol greater than 10 percent."

Consider that in light of the move to 15% ethanol fuels ...

kcautv.com/story/15008125/new-iowa-e15-incentive-begins-july-1st

... especially where it reads:

"Earlier this week the EPA finalized a rule allowing E15 to be sold to all 2001 and newer passenger vehicles later this summer."

I'm a proud Democrat, but sometimes our government is just, plain stupid. And, if you're a proud Republican who thinks, "Yeah, that's why we need less government", consider where we'd be if there was no NHTSA to force Chrysler to do at least something!

You also need to read the NHTSA's press release...

In addition, Chrysler is initiating a lifetime warranty program, at no cost to the consumer, to address the fuel spit back problem in approximately 135,000 model year 2007-2008 Jeep Wrangler vehicles built from March 1, 2007 to March 31, 2008.

I had this issue for a long time and registered a complaint online. Eventually, I got a letter saying they'd replace it. there are definitely forums on here with the link for complaints somewhere.

Why March 1st, 2007? My Jeep was delivered Feb 28th, 2007. But, did something change in the design that caused the fuel spitback problem?

15%, now we can start kissing our lawn tractor motors goodbye. It's getting hard to find ethanol free gas anymore.
My jeep, like yours, is an '07. I took delivery of mine in July of '07. Mine has just recently (after four years) started burping a little gas, about 1/2 cup, after fill up. It doesn't do it everytime, I would say once every 5th or 6th time, but it has started. Hopefully yours never starts doing it.
I have my letter from chrysler but I sure as hell hate letting the dealer touch her for any reason.

I had this problem on my 08 JKU. I made a cell phone video of the spillage occurring and then took it in to LHM jeep in Abq NM. Once the service rep saw it he told me they knew of the problem and a replacement gas tank would be installed. That did fix the problem.
