I had mine fixed last week. It took the dealership about a week to get parts, but it only took a few hours for the replacement. It works fine now, but before I would lose a gallon of gas each fill up.

It should be fully covered from the stealership. don't let em try to squeeze any money out of you for the repair. I find that with recalls, they try to make an excuse why they needed to charge you for something. "well, due to your skid plate... I'm going to have to charge you $150 for labor." it's BS.

I don't think that there's been a full-blown recall. At least I never received a recall letter, nor a letter of any kind, about this problem. But, I've owned my Jeep since March '07 and never had a problem. My point, however, is that you may not be covered by whatever program they are offering--suggest that you go to the NHTSA website, research their recall database, and while you're there fill out the "File a Complaint" form. It is those forms that get Chrysler to issue a recall, or to add more model years to the campaign.

IMHO, its one of those things they try to sweep under the carpet and hope it goes away.
Wont do a recall until someone get injured seriously, then they will jump thru their backsides.
