interior.... footwells??
so i have an issue with the inside of my jeep. everytime someone gets out of the back seat (from my 2dr) they step on that plastic trim that runs the length from the feet to the back of the door. ill try to explain my problem:
when people get out, they step on the plastic which squishes it down some. repeated over and over makes it stay down. now i have a gap where that door trim meets the next piece of trim that covers up the seat belt spool. the seat belt spool trim overlaps the door trim and sits on top. my issue is that now the door trim is smashed down and i cant seem to figure out how to get it back up to where it needs to be, there is a gap where the two meet. it bugs me. a lot. i dont know how to go about fixing this. i looked on the drivers side and this problem isnt there. so im assuming its from the people getting out of the back and stepping there?
thought about cutting out a piece of wood and putting it underneath for support but the contours of the underside on the door trim would make it too difficult.
ill take some pics tommorrow when its light out but in the mean time, any ideas? any at all?

you have to take the piece out by removing all the plastic fasteners. Make sure nothing is cracked and re -install it. i should fit right back in just fine. as for keeping it in place.....good luck i guess......wood could be tricky maybe use some high density rigid insulation. That would make much easier to get a perfect fit than with wood. Let us know how it turns out.

alright, news update on the trim issue. got it fixed. i went the wood block way. i used scrap pieces of 3/4" plywood 1-3/4" tall and 2-1/2" long right under the bolt area. also put i notch in it in a 45 degree angle between 1-1/8" and 1-3/16" from one of the edges. once done cutting and putting the notch in it make it face the inside of the Jeep. then put the trim all back together and you're good to go. i also put 3 other pieces of 3/4" plywood except 1-1/4" tall and roughly 6" in length and one more about 3 to 4" in length. (see pictures for placement)
this shows the placement of the 3 blocks
this is the problem i had BEFORE doing anything to it
the notch in the block of wood that went under the bolt where the two trim pieces meet
the channel i had to work with.....
sorry about the small pictures but its all i had to work with
