Default Inner shift boot loose

Once in a while I have troulble shifting into gear, sometimes it will even pop out of gear while cruising. I could feel something moving under my shifter dust cover. I took off the dust cover and found that my inner shift boot had popped loose. I popped it back into place and since then it shifts flawlessly and I havn't experienced any of the same problems. The only thing I can think of is the hard ring that secures the bottom of the inner shift boot seems to have been blocking the shifter at times and providing resistance, causing it to pop out gear. Has anyone experienced this or have any input?

Had the same issue, noticed shifting in to 1st was difficult, and was getting some more road noise in the cab. Inner shift boot had popped out of place. I understand it's a common problem. One of those "Jeep" things I guess.

Cheers,

Matt
